2020 High Street and Industrial Loop Road Rail Road Crossing Improvement

10-01-2020:
As some people probably already know, the city's contractor finished up work at the Industrial Loop Road Rail Road crossing earlier this week and the road was opened back to vehicle traffic.  The City has been notified that High Street Rail Road Crossing improvement project will now begin starting on Monday, October 5th.  At that time the road will be closed and all vehicle traffic will be detoured to Industrial Loop Road.

9-17-2020:
After some unfortunate delays with permitting and scheduling the city's contractor began work this week on the Industrial Loop Road Crossing.  Underground utility improvements and initial site grading is complete.  Concrete work is expected to begin on Monday, September 21st or Tuesday, September 22nd.    That concrete will need about 4 days to cure.     Following the concrete work the site will be re-graded and paved.  At this point in time we're expecting the crossing to reopen on September 30th.

The City has been been notified that work for the Industrial Loop Rail Road Crossing has been pushed back to begin Monday, August 24th. CN will begin with some staking and maybe some track adjustments starting that day or the next, with the city’s contractor starting excavation outside the track on August 27th.

8-12-2020:
The City has been informed by our contractor that crossing improvements are anticipate to begin at the Industrial Loop Road Rail Road crossing on Thursday, August 20th. At that time the intersection will be closed and traffic will be detoured to High Street. Once those improvements are complete at the Industrial Loop Road crossing, the contractor will move and begin improvements at the High Street Rail Road Crossing. When the High Street crossing is under construction all traffic will be detoured to Industrial Loop Road. Click HERE for a project map.

7-10-2020:
The City is planning a coordination project with Canadian National Rail Road to improve the rail road Crossings at High Street and Industrial Loop Road. An exact start date has not been announced from Canadian National yet, but we expect this work to begin in mid to late July. When these crossing are under construction, a detour will be created utilizing the other road (so when the High Street rail road crossing is under construction, traffic will be detoured to Industrial Loop Road, and vice versa when the Industrial Loop Road rail road crossing is under construction).
